The River Rhône (Le Rhône) : Only 6 km away from Les Balcons du Chat,

in a canoe will give you the opportunity to observe the river's
wildlife, its numerous islands and luxuriant vegetation. A unique
spot waiting to be discovered! www.vertes-sensations.com
A cycle path from Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) all the way to the
sea is under construction. It will follow the river Rhone for 670

an idea what this 'green' route will be like when it is completed.
Lake Bourget (Le Lac du Bourget)
: 30 minutes away, Lake Bourget is the biggest natural lake in France.
20 km long and 4 km wide, it is above all a rich ecological environment
where numerous migratory birds nest. Particular care is given to
this rare and fragile environment and green tourism is being developed
to protect the lake.www.patrimoine-naturel-savoie.org
North of the lake is the Lavours marsh, one of the very last
European wetlands, covering an area of about 500 hectares (about
1200 acres). The marsh can be visited thanks to a raised walkway,
with excellent views of The Dent du Chat.www.reserve-lavours.com
